Riosbo Ayahuasca Retreat and Research Center
The Riosbo Retreat & Research Center is nestled in the Allpahuayo-Mishana National Reserve, along the Nanay River. Offering top-notch comfort in a stunning jungle setting, the center is staffed mostly by members of the nearby Mishana community. With breathtaking river views and 30-year-old ayahuasca vines on the property, it’s an ideal place to explore the healing powers of ayahuasca and plant medicine.
The center has eight guest rooms, each with a private bathroom. Rooms are booked as single occupancy, but can be shared with a friend or family member. Each bathroom includes a sink, flushing toilet, and a shower with hot and cold water. Rooms are fully screened with electricity, fans, lights, and multiple outlets. They open to a shared balcony overlooking the river, with private meditation areas facing the jungle.
The Optimal Healing Environment
In addition to the guest rooms, the center features a kitchen, dining room, living room, massage and consultation rooms, a hammock area overlooking the courtyard, and a studio for yoga and meditation. Behind the center are the areas for treatment and ceremonies, along with a collection of ayahuasca vines and medicinal plants. The ceremony space, or maloca, is fully screened, with three nearby bathrooms for convenience. The courtyard hosts a medicinal plant garden, offering a chance to connect with the healing plants. Just a one-minute walk from the center, you’ll find a white sand beach on the river for swimming and relaxation. Well-maintained trails also lead deep into the national reserve for hiking adventures.
Yoga and Meditation Studio
On the north wing of the Riosbo ayahuasca retreat center is our yoga and meditation studio. It’s the perfect place for complimentary practices offered at the retreat. Yoga, meditation, trauma release exercises, and other healing modalities are offered in this location.
Hammock Lounge
Along the front of the Riosbo ayahuasca retreat center is our hammock lounge. It’s the ideal setting for relaxing, reading, journaling, and sharing in conversations. Between activities and after ceremonies, participants enjoy the tranquil space to continue their healing processes.
Ceremony Maloca
In the back of the Riosbo ayahuasca retreat center is our ayahuasca ceremony space, called the maloca. It’s a sixteen sided structure that hosts the profound ayahuasca ceremonies, as well as some of the treatments, discussions, and other healing activities.
Total Immersion in Nature
The Riosbo Ayahuasca Retreat Center is surrounded by over 100,000 acres of protected rainforest, home to an incredible array of plants and wildlife. This serene setting not only offers incredible comfort to guests, but its immersion in the natural beauty and power of the Amazon rainforest provides the perfect location to connect and heal with the energies of the plants.
Next to the retreat center, the Mishana community embodies a life in harmony with nature. Children play in the river and locals fish, farm, and enjoy a simple yet fulfilling life in the jungle. Riosbo is a true paradise, and we feel blessed to share this special place.
