The Ayahuasca Foundation’s retreat center sits along the bank of the Nanay river, a tributary of the Amazon river. The center is part of the Mishana community, a local jungle community within the Allpahuayo-Mishana national reserve. This gorgeous location is intimately connected to the energy and wisdom of the rainforest plants, animals, and people. Participants enjoy hiking in the jungle and swimming in the river, while working with an ancestral tradition to revive the inner beauty and power of their true selves.

If you are traveling with a friend, family member, or partner, you can each save $250 by sharing a room. Rooms contain two beds, fan, desk, closet, meditation suite, and complete bathroom. To receive the discount, simply state on your registration forms that you’ll be sharing a room and provide the name of the other person. The discount will be applied to the remainder due after the deposit.

An Example Itinerary for the Retreat:
Schedule of Treatments and Activities
Day 0 - Saturday
Regardless of what day or time you arrive, you will be met at the Iquitos airport and accompanied to the hotel where all the participants stay the night before the retreat. At 4pm: Attend a meeting to get to know the other participants and discuss the retreat itinerary and details.
Day 1 - Sunday
Take an air-conditioned bus for one hour to the village of Nina Rumi along the Nanay river. Travel by boat for one hour into the National Reserve. Arrive at the retreat center, get settled, have lunch, and attend a meeting to discuss the upcoming ayahuasca ceremony.
AYAHUASCA CEREMONY #1
Day 2 - Monday
Wake up early to take Sangre de Grado, a purgative that cleanses the digestive system. Have a private consultation with the curandero, translated by the assistants to discuss a personalized treatment plan. Begin taking daily plant remedies to improve circulation, increase sensitivity, and decrease inflammation.
Day 3 - Tuesday
Morning yoga sessions will take place every other morning. Continue the daily plant remedies. Begin vapor baths to release physical and emotional toxins. Attend a mapacho and agua florida workshop. Guided meditation in the evening before the ceremony.
AYAHUASCA CEREMONY #2
Day 4 - Wednesday
Plant remedies continue. Vapor baths continue. Use an inhalant called Mucura to cleanse the sinus system. Attend a sharing circle to share progress. Personalized plant medicine treatments, if needed, in the afternoon.
Day 5 - Thursday
Morning yoga session. Plant remedies continue. Vapor baths continue. Personalized plant treatments continue, if needed. Attend a lecture on ayahuasca navigation and the Shipibo healing tradition given by the curandero. Guided meditation before the ceremony.
AYAHUASCA CEREMONY #3
Day 6 - Friday
Plant remedies continue. Take the powerful plant medicine Chiric Sanango to cleanse the nervous system. Rest, journal, go swimming or hiking, depending on the response to the medicine. Attend a display of Shipibo arts and crafts made by the curandera.
Day 7 - Saturday
Morning yoga session. Plant remedies continue. Begin plant baths for protection from negative energies. Take a guided walk into the jungle to learn more about wild medicinal plants and absorb the energy of the rainforest. Guided meditation before the ceremony.

Day 8 - Sunday
Plant remedies continue. Receive another plant bath referred to as a ‘love bath’ to attract positive energies. Participate in another sharing circle. Attend a cacao and breathwork ceremony to release any remaining negative energies.
Day 9 - Monday
Morning yoga session. Receive the final love bath. Have a final consultation with the curandero and facilitators about your progress and recommendations for the future. Attend a workshop on integration and begin planning your return home.

Day 10 - Tuesday
Break the healing dieta with some delicious foods for breakfast. Take some final pictures together. Say goodbye to the Mishana community and board the boat at 2pm to head back to Iquitos. Do some shopping for gifts and enjoy some free time in town.
Day 11 - Wednesday
Meet with the group at 9am for breakfast at the hotel. Receive your USB with the pictures taken during the retreat, the audio recordings of the ceremonies and other helpful materials. After breakfast, say goodbyes and prepare for your next journey…
