Ayahuasca Training Courses at the Ayahuasca Foundation guide those called to ayahuasca healing by offering authentic education tailored to western learning styles. While a one or two month stay in the jungle is brief, it provides a solid foundation in the key principles of the Shipibo healing tradition, allowing participants to make significant progress.

Shipibo Ayahuasca Ceremonies
Ayahuasca ceremonies form the trunk of the Shipibo plant medicine tradition and are central to the courses, for they provide the opportunity to commune more directly with plant spirits, most especially the spirit of the sacred plant dieta. Learning Shipibo icaros, the powerful healing songs that enhance the connection and communication with spirits, is also an important element of the courses.
Sacred Plant Dietas
Plant dietas form the roots of the ancestral healing traditions of the Peruvian Amazon and are at the core of the courses offered by the Ayahuasca Foundation. It is through plant dietas that curanderos receive energy, guidance, and wisdom from the ancient world of plants. The Shipibo curandero and facilitators share ideas and techniques to strengthen and enhance the relationships formed in dietas.
Medicinal Plant Treatments
The plant remedies and treatments employed in the Shipibo tradition form the branches of the tradition. These treatments are important components of the healing tradition and are also a part of the courses. Students receive several catagories of plant medicines, from purgatives to baths to oral and topical remedies. Workshops and discussions describe their preparation and administration, as well.

Course Facilities
The ayahuasca courses and training programs offered at the Ayahuasca Foundation take place at two distinct remote locations in the Amazon rainforest. Each facility is a tranquil refuge from the busy world with unique accommodations and delightful, energizing surroundings.
Riosbo Ayahuasca Retreat Center
The Riosbo Retreat and Research Center offers a very comfortable experience with private rooms, private bathrooms, hot and cold water, personal fans, and a shared balcony overlooking the river. Amenities include a hammock deck, massage, yoga, and consultation rooms, and various activity spaces. This serene paradise, located in a national reserve, hosts the 4 week Healing Empowerment Course, limited to 12 participants. Guests can enjoy daily swims in the river and hikes through the protected jungle surrounding the center.
Kesten Rono Plant Medicine School
The Kesten Rono Plant Medicine School offers a truly authentic experience in private rooms with rustic energy, mirroring a small Shipibo community in the jungle. This is where the 8 week Initiation Course takes place, accommodating up to 14 participants. While the comfort level is modest, the experience is profoundly enriching. The school is surrounded by powerful medicinal plants, including several Noya Rao trees. Connecting with these and other master plants makes this school a special place for deep, authentic learning.
