THE CURANDEROS
The five curanderos participating in the seminar will introduce themselves and describe their background. They will each give a 45-minute presentation regarding how they decided to and became healers, their personal journeys on the healing path, their philosophy on plant spirit medicine, and their vision for the future of curanderismo. You'll hear stories about curing complicated diseases or encountering dangerous animals and how knowledge of the spirit allowed them to achieve their goals. They will go into detail describing the diets required of them, the initiation process and the traditions related to practicing curanderismo.
A 15 minute question and answer period will follow each presentation, allowing for clarification and further explanation of more specific information. The facilitator for each curandero will translate the presentations and monitor the question and answer period afterwards. |

THE FILM 'AYAHUASCA DIARY'
This feature film was shot in January of 2008 and chronicles the treatment of four patients from Los Angeles over an 18 day period. Amazing ceremony footage and educational material on the science of plant spirit medicine accompany the miraculous healings that occur during the film. Follow ups after returning to the US beautifully document how one man no longer has cancer, a woman who arrived to Peru in a wheelchair shows how much more mobility she has, a young man with psoriasis shows his healed skin, and a young woman with depression leaves LA to follow her dreams. It is a fantastic demonstration of ayahuasca healing. |
